Gran Turismo 5 - Review
I’ve taken my time in getting back on the writing train so I thought I’d do a quick review on the latest game I have been playing. GT5 Prologue is a game I finally got round to playing when I fancied a game I could pick up and play over the exam period. I have been putting off playing this mainly because I it sounded like poor value for money and in some ways at £17.99 it is, but for fans of the racing genre it is still a must have.
GT is a relatively new experience for me and I was not disappointed, the tracks are limited but I like that in a game, because gives you more time to hone your skills. Although I Daytona gets old fairly quickly and London is poor, the rest provide a nice mixture, where the High Speed Ring breaks you in gently and tracks like Suzuka test your ability to hit the right lines to the limits. There are cars a plenty too, although I still haven’t been bored enough to do the billions of laps need to get the Ferrari F1 2007 car, I have managed to unlock enough along the way to keep me happy.
I decided to start with the Focus ST, in orange of course, which handles like a dream, but the Integra is required for some of the C-class races so maybe better investment to save some extra pennies for later on, although for those who haven’t had the pleasure of making their own journey through the game I will leave my suggestions there. Right, so I have never really driven a racing sim before and found it tough switching between cars because of how unique they are to drive.

inFamous is the first PS3 game from fabled Sony development studio, Sucker Punch Productions, creators of the Sly Cooper series, and their experience with this type of game definitely shows. inFamous is a 3rd person action game where you play as Cole who was granted super powers following an explosion that destroyed most of Empire City, the fictional city in which the game takes place.
I describe this game as a cross between Spiderman 2, Assassin’s Creed and Bioshock. It takes the open world gameplay of Spiderman 2, the climb-on-anything mechanics of Assassin’s Creed and the good vs. bad morality choices of Bioshock to create a very compelling and fun game. The game’s strength is really it’s story. It’s a very story driven game. It puts it’s players in the situation of “alright, you’ve got superpowers, now what?” While the morality choice system has taken a lot of heat in the enthusiast press I’m actually quite fond of it.
While it does split the game it can be very fun to play through a game twice, two different ways, to see if there are different outcomes. I can’t go into the story too much because I don’t want to spoil it but it’s a very good story. The character of Cole is very engaging and Sucker Punch did a very good job of developing him, depending on your choices you..... See the original post: inFamous Review

Now and then, you will find a title on the PlayStation Store or Xbox Live Arcade which you think, heck why not, I’ve not got anything to do this afternoon and I’ve got a bit of change left on my wallet so you download a title. This happened to me last week and i downloaded The Last Guy* and yes I’m glad i did. The Last Guy Players 1 Online n/a Campaign length 2-3 Hours Release Date Out Now From the moment you load up The Last Guy (TLG) from your Harddrive the first thing you will notice is the soundtrack.
Its wacky and catchy 8-Bit goodness and you will find yourself replaying the same tune in your head for hours after you finish playing. The Gameplay in TLG is simple, your a ’superhero’ and you have to get people from one point of the map to the other. However the twist in TLG is that the handful of maps you get to play in are taking from Google Maps so you will be running around in actual places from St James Park in Newcastle to San Francisco.
The aim is to save as many people as you can and get them to the escape zone before they are attacked by monsters..that’s right monsters. While you are running from building to building getting people to rescue there will be many types of monsters trying to take you out and wipe out as many of the people you are saving and this is where the challenge comes in, as you progress the monsters become harder as you might expect. I found a neat touch of this game is the crowd, when they spot a monster they will scream and that never gets old.
You are also helped out along the way by items which are placed around the map which will give you abilities for a short period of time. Overal The Last Guy has turned out to be one of the PlayStation Stores gems, its funny, its challenging, it’s easy to pick up and play and its unique. Once you completed it once, theres plenty of incentive to play it again, as there are VIP’s which you can find for bonus points and the humor the game brings keeps you playing.
What We Loved -The games Music -The amount of polish this game has -Challenging enough to keep even the most die-hard gamer entertained -The humor the game provides What We Hated -Some more levels would be nice. Overall Verdict - 5 Stars ( What Does This Mean? ) The Last Guy really is one of the gems out there on the PlayStation Store, if you haven’t downloaded it already i suggest that you give it a go. You won’t be disappointed. Enjoyed this article? Follow us on Twitter
