Product Description |
| The swashbuckling action in Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty begins one year following the intense ending in Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. Ratchet's desperate search for Clank resumes with a bang as he finds himself engulfed in ship-board combat -- only to be cast adrift and washed up on the shores of a remote island on the planet Merdegraw. Our Lombax hero must overcome life-threatening challenges, encounter hostile new alien races and even form an allegiance with dreaded Captain Slag's first mate, Rusty Pete. All in the pursuit of clues that lead Ratchet to the treasure of Captain Angstrom Darkwater, Slag's former commander and keeper of the only known link to the mysterious Zoni: the Fulcrum Star. |

| If you are a Ratchet & Clank fan then this game is a must have. We purchased it when it was first released on the Playstation Network. You cannot purchase this game at any stores because it's an exclusive to the Playstation Network. It is a fun game and I would compare it a lot to Future Tools Of Destruction. The game play and all of the controls seems to be the same. This game doesn't have as many levels as Future Tools Of Destruction but it is about 1/4 the price as most games. This is one of the best deals that I ever found for download. |
Standalone Ratchet title for only $9.99?

The Ratchet and Clank series has been my favorite since I played the original on the ps2.
THis is I believe the eight instalment and it doesnt disapoint. Sure its the same gameplay but it actually has new things. The wrench now has more funcionality like pulling platforms or other thing and also holds light in dark levels. With a Crack in Time coming out this month you should get Tools of Destruction and Quest for Booty.

This game is basically an expansion to the Tools of Destruction story and the bridge between that game and the soon to be released A Crack in Time. So if you are unfamiliar with the story line in ToD, there will be plot points that won't make a lot of sense.
That said, this game still offers all the fun (humor), action, and platforming adventure that the Ratchet and Clank series is acclaimed for. So even though you might not know what every plot point is relating to, the game will still deliver all the humor and tight gameplay you expect.
Concerning that gameplay, due to events in Tools of Destruction Clank, is not in this adventure (you're basically looking for him in this game). This isn't a huge deal except that some actions that you would expect (if you've played previous R&C games) like hover jump are absent - but they really aren't missed.
In short, this game is a perfect extended sample of R&C gameplay for those new to the series. The game is a tad on the short side at a 3-5 hours but the discounted Amazon price and the sheer fun this game provides, makes this an easy recommendation. Highly recommended to longtime fans and anyone who plans on completeing the story arc started in ToD and finishing in aCiT.
Edit: At time of writing the offer price was less - must have been at temporary sale price. At full price the game is harder to justify for casual fans IMHO. Though for hardcore and less price sensitive fans, this game gets a full recommendation at the full retail price. |
Worth your money, even if it's over too soon

Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty (RACF: QFB) is an awesome DLC, and if you don't necessarily want to spend $59.99 to find out if you like RACF: A Crack in Time, this is a good alternative.
Set between Tools of Destruction and a Crack in Time, this adventure introduces you to several mechanics used in RACF: ACIT. You'll use your gravity boots to walk up and over obstacles, your wrench to turn cranks and manipulate platforms, and be introduces to weapons used in RACF: ACIT.
Gameplay is pretty much standards R&C fare; you know what you're getting with this game. You can, of course, use your wrench to hack through most enemies, but the fun is getting creative with all the weapons at your disposal, discovering different ways to tackle situations.
The game is too short, but is definitely a great 4-6 hour diversion. |
Left me asking for more!

| When I played Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction, I could not get enough of this game on the PS3! The graphics are wonderful and the game is never boring to me. Then I found this game for really cheap on Amazon, so I took it before it was gone! Quest for Booty continues practically where the last game left off, so it was nice to return to the world of Ratchet and Clank, and get to know more about the characters. The weapons are the same from Tools of Destruction, so it is familiar and easy to pick back up if you haven't played Tools of Destruction in a while. Very fun and engaging! I recommend especially if you have played Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction but not Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time |
